This morning, Gov. Charlie Crist was in Ybor City. He was greeted by about eight employees of the Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association. They held signs encouraging him to veto Senate Bill 6.

Supporters of school vouchers, including Governor Charlie Crist, rallied outside the state Capitol today. Inside, a bill to expand a private school voucher program passed the Senate 27 to 11.

The vote was closer on another education bill. This one would set new standards for public school teachers and affect pay, tenure, and retention. It passed 21 to 17 because even some Republicans opposed it.
