Tonight in St. Petersburg there will be a public hearing to discuss offshore marine fish farming.
The meetings has been called by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council. Tentative plans are to allow open water aquaculture off the gulf â growing fish in nets or cages between 3 and 200 miles from shore.
But there are environmental concerns.

A new report by the group Environmental Defense details the effect of climate change on Floridaâs economy.
The report is based on research by an economist from Tufts University. It is called Florida and Climate Change: The Costs of Inaction and compares two specific climate scenarios based on how much carbon dioxide pollution is emitted into the atmosphere during this century.
