Paper or plastic? That’s an old question that may have a new answer: neither. There’s a movement toward doing away with single-use bags at the grocery check-out counter with more of an emphasis on reusable bags.

WMNF News interviewed the coordinator of the local Green Party in Tampa, Friedemann Buschbeck, about a petition he’s organizing to reduce plastic bag use.

Florida theme parks SeaWorld and Busch Gardens are making the switch from plastic bags to paper bags. The parent company recently announced the change to paper shopping bags in an effort to promote an eco-friendly recyclable alternative.
