Last week the U.S. Senate shot down a controversial House budget that included sweeping changes to Medicare, but critics of the proposal arenât quite ready to rest easy. About ten people demonstrated outside Senator Marco Rubioâs office in Tampa earlier today. Olga Vives, executive vice president of NOW, talked about NOW's agenda for women in the new administration. Topics included the percentage of women in high level government, economic effects on women, reproductive rights, health care, violence against women.
Vives also alerted us to the change in direction in HHS regarding conscience regarding women's ability to get the reproductive health care they desire and the hope that it will change under the new administration.
