Insurance marketplaces open in states nationwide Tuesday for people to shop for subsidized health insurance. Small businesses will also be able to choose more competitive policies for their employees starting in November. During a conference call Monday with the group Small Business Majority, founder and CEO John Arensmeyer said the marketplaces will lead to more employers offering health benefits to their employees.

The Federal Health Insurance Marketplace will open for consumers on Tuesday. A report released by the U.S. department of Health and Human Services released yesterday showed that rates in Florida and across the country will be lower than expected. Here, a 27-year-old individual earning $25,000 a year would pay less than $100 a month after tax credits for a policy. Still, the 3-year-old law is being complicated by a wealth of misinformation.

Defund Obamacare now was the theme of the town hall styled meeting Wednesday at the Crowne Plaza Westshore in Tampa.

The event was put on by Heritage Action for America, which is the political organ of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank based in Washington D.C. Nearly $70 million is being allocated to communities across the country to make sure uninsured or under-insured people can find affordable healthcare. The announcement was made Thursday at USF Tampa by U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius. She said it will help the 3.5 million uninsured Floridians.
