Edie Daly (Energetic Edie) and Christina Bellamy of AVP (Alternatives to Violence Project or Alternative Visions of Peace) provide a monthly full-weekend workshop for women inmates at Coleman Prison. They talked about the work they do at the prison and the upcoming art show and sale to benefit the project.

Though rain may have cancelled most of the performances that were scheduled for a children’s talent show in Gulfport on Sunday, it did not dampen the spirits of Localshops1.com, the organizers for the event. The Gulfport-based website is devoted to the promotion of independent, local businesses in the Tampa Bay area.

Although some Democratic Party strategists now say Barack Obama may win easily in the Electoral College on Election Day, there is plenty of evidence to indicate that it is far too soon for such lofty predictions.

Cultural Critic Lee Siegel has been called by the New York Times Magazine as one of the most "eloquent and acid-tongued critics in the country."

But in 2006, Siegel was suspended by the New Republic magazine for using a pseudonym to respond to critics on the magazine’s website.
