An immigrants rights group in Tampa is pressuring the state legislature to allow everyone, including undocumented immigrants, to get a driver’s license. The group is Raices en Tampa and one of their organizers is Marisol Márquez.

The Student Senate at the University of South Florida is recommending to the school’s Board of Trustees that undocumented immigrants living in Florida receive in-state tuition.

The Senate voted Tuesday night on a resolution supported by Students for a Democratic Society, or SDS.

WMNF interviewed Marisol Márquez, a member of Raices en Tampa and Gage Lacharite, a USF student and president of SDS.

On August 4 a group called the Immigrant Rights Caravan set off from Pensacola on a journey through all of Florida's congressional districts to push for legalization for all undocumented immigrants.

They'll be in Tampa Saturday to protest at the office of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio.
