Pinellas County seeks input on budget

For the past few years, local governments have been cutting budgets as tax revenue declines.
Last year, Pinellas County laid off 260 people and cut $77 million in spending. In the fiscal year that begins this summer, Pinellas is looking at another $40 million shortfall because of declining property values. Elected officials are facing some tough choices, including what parts of county government to cut. Commissioners are looking for public input on where those cuts might be made. We’re joined now by Pinellas County Commissioner Susan Latvala.
