On today’s program our guest was the president of the Pinellas chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, Jan Allyn. We talked about the importance of native plants and the chapter’s upcoming Native Landscape Tour, which will take place on October 6 &7, 9AM to 3PM, as a self-guided tour of homes and businesses in Pinellas County. To find out more check out www.pinellas.fnpschapters.org. Their monthly meeting takes place on the first Wednesday of the month at the Pinellas County Extension Office, 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo. We had open phones the rest of the program, with the first comments on the GMO Food Labeling push in Florida. Other questions were about controlling sand-spurs, Lubber grasshoppers and more.
