Ed Moriarty commented: "I question the Republican congresswoman's understanding of how lucky her son, born with Down Syndrome, is to have been born two two parents who are both eligible for some our nation's best government subsidized health plans. I also question if she is aware that much of the progressive legislation that offers opportunities and developmental programs that are available not only for her son, but all children with developmental challenges, has been vigorously opposed by her party for the past 35 years. Wealthy, powerful people who control the republican political machine have blinders that block their vision of every day America. They only see and hear what they want. I loved her "our plan" comments in the speech. The only plan I have heard for 5 yrs is cut, cut,cut and promote austerity. Hateful, I've got mine people.....these right wing ideologues."

I think it would have been funny to have Obama say, "and isn't it wonderful that the son of a tanning bed maker could grow up to the Speaker of the House!" Would Boehner laugh or scowl at that? Probably scowl.
