Today on Radioactivity Rob Lorei speaks with President of ACLU of Florida Mike Pheneger about the school- to- prison- pipeline system. The “school-to-prison pipeline” refers to policies and practices that push children out of classrooms and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems. The path to incarceration begins with inadequate resources in schools, inequitable school discipline practices including zero tolerance, policing of school hallways, use of alternative schools, involvement of courts, and often ends with students in juvenile detention or adult prisons. The vast majority of students pulled in to the pipeline never graduate from high school.

Later, Rob plays part of the documentary Inequality for All in light of the President's State of the Union address in which he's expected to talk about inequality.

Lastly, Radioactivity remembers Pete Seeger.
