Good morning, welcome to radioactivity. I’m Rob Lorei. Coming up today we’ll talk about that proposal by former Hillsborough County Commissioner Ed Turanchik to bring ferry service to Tampa Bay.

Earlier this week former Hillsborough County Commissioner Ed Turanchik unveiled a proposal to begin high speed ferry service crossing parts of Tampa Bay. The plan would be to first link southern Hillsborough County with MacDill Air Force Base. These would be pedestrian ferries. Former County Commissioner Ed Turanchik joins us now. FMI

I know several local business owners whose shops are among the many that line the streets going into and out of MacDill. If this ferry is built, what happens to those businesses that rely on the constant stream of base employees? Will they get relocation subsidies to move to the ferry terminals?
