Good morning, welcome to Radioactivity. I’m Rob Lorei. Coming up we’ll talk with a self-described moderate Republican who ran for Congress in the 2010 elections and lost in the Republican primary. Her name is Barbara Olschner- she’s an experienced trial lawyer and a one-time professional tennis player. She is a staunch opponent of Obamacare- the Affordable Care Act, she thinks English should be the official language of the country, she believes in lower taxes, less regulation, limited government, and individual accountability. But those positions were not enough for her to gain the confidence of Republican leaders or to win the Republican primary…. In 2010, when Olschner ran for Congress as a moderate Republican in the Florida Panhandle. …Her opponents were an undertaker, a drug salesman, a Delta pilot, and a cowboy inventor. She lost that race ---She’s written a new book called The Reluctant Republican: My Fight for the Moderate Majority (University Press of Florida). Barbara Olschner joins us live.
