Debby Terry and Mary Glenney talk about the movie The Fruitvale Station which is a narrative account of the murder on January 31, 2009 of Oscar Grant at the Fruitvale Station BART stop. The shooting occurred with many witnesses seeing that Oscar was lying face down and handcuffed when he was shot in the back by the arresting officer. The case went to court which resulted in a sentence of two years for the officer. The jury decided it was an accidental manslaughter. Protests followed the verdict and there are demonstrations which continue on the anniversary of the death. The movie is directed by Ryan Coogler and is presently in many theatres..
