Nuclear power is a big issue here in the Bay area. Progress Energy Florida is seeking regulatory approval to build two new nuclear power plants in Levy County very near the existing Crystal River nuclear plant. That plant has been down for more than a year as the company tries to repair a series of cracks and problems with its containment vessel Here to talk about the nuclear issue are: Mary Olson, Director of the SE office of Nuclear Information and Resource Service (NIRS) and Mandy Hancock, with the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE). Both Olson and Hancock will be speaking tonight at 6pm at a free event at the USF College of public Health in room 2018.

Customer made to pay for the Plant

Hell NO! Since when can a private Company tax its customers for their plant that they nmay never build! If they can do this than give us shares in the dang company. It's like paying for the bullets for a firing squad that is going to execute you. We the customers are being screwed twice. 1. To pay for the plant. 2. To buy the power from them.
