A 16-year-old Tampa student who brought a gun to school and pointed it towards a victim was arrested yesterday authorities said.

Antonio Comer was involved in an after-school physical fight less than a mile from Hillsborough High School campus where he threatened 15-year-old Randy Benck by pointing a gun towards him and pistol-whipping him according to authorities.

When the police arrived several boys began to run away but an officer was able to catch Comer. Another officer saw him throw his gun in a trashcan.

Comer admitted to being armed while in school and is being charged with carrying a concealed firearm, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm on school property, minor in possession of a firearm and tampering with evidence.

Police are investigating how Comer obtained the gun and are asking students to share any information they have related to this incident with Crime Stoppers or the Tampa Police.
