Next month, for the first time in the United States the Bollywood Oscars will be awarded in Tampa. ItÂ’s a four day event officially called the Videocon D2H International Indian Film Academy Awards weekend. The biggest event will be the awards presentation itself- taking place at Raymond James Stadium where 35,000 are expected to be in the audience and 800 million people are expected to be watching worldwide.

Today on Radioactivity Rob Lorei discusses the International Indian Film Academy Awards with Visit Tampa Bay President Santiago Corrada. Visit Tampa Bay is the independent non-profit which promotes tourism in Tampa Bay. The award show will be held in Tampa April 23rd through the 26th.

I didn't get all the whiners bitchin' about the IIFA being all about the elite. Especially when there's a free event, the IIFA Stomp, at Curtis Hixon Park. I think these folks should stop their bitchin' and think positive for once in their miserable lives, but I expect some whining to come from WMNF listeners at all times and on all topics.
