In a little more than a week, thousands of people will be heading to the Tampa area to make their voices heard outside the Republican National Convention. Some estimates put the number as high as 15,000. Regardless of what that number is, one thing is for sure – many of them will need a need a place to crash and food to eat.
While the folks at the Occupy Tampa and Romneyville are readying their encampments to offer as shelter to protestors the group Food Not Bombs is busy planning how to feed as many of them as possible. They will be holding their "World Gathering" beginning on Monday at Voice of Freedom Park in West Tampa.
Joining us in the studio to talk about this is activist Elizabeth Toms. In addition to working with Food Not Bombs Toms has been involved with Occupy Tampa since its inception and as if that wasn’t enough, is also entering her 4th year at USF as an anthropology major.
