Terry O'Neill, the executive Director of NOW (National Organization For Women), discusses violence against women in the United States and her reasons for the passage of VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) that is being discussed in the Senate now. She discussed the changes from the bill that failed last year and the present status of the bill. Terry also discussed NOW's participation with so many other organizations in the "one billion rising" international celebration by dance and awareness of the violence against women that is being held on February 14. Celebrations are being held in Tampa and the surrounding areas as well as cities through the state and nation. 'One billion rising" is an intentional event. For more information go to www.now.org
