Good morning, welcome to Radioactivity. Coming up today we’ll discuss the recent report by the Tampa Bay Times and the Center for Investigative Reporting on the 50 Worst Charities in the US.

And later we’ll talk with one of Florida’s leading atheists.

The Tampa Bay Times, CNN and the Center for Investigative Journalism produced a report this week called AMERICA’S WORST CHARITIES. Kris Hundley from the Tampa Bay Times and Kendall Taggart from the CIR….

The reporters looked at nearly 6,000 charities that have decided to use for-profit companies to get donations. They came up with a list of the 50 Worst charities- charities that raised considerable amounts of money but gave little of that money to the needy people or the causes they promised to serve.

Collectively the 50 worst charities raised more than $1.3 Billion over the past decade and paid nearly $1 Billion of that directly to the companies that raise their donations….

Teresa was a Methodist minister for approximately 20 years, but "came out" as an atheist a couple of years ago. She was named Atheist of the Year for 2012 by the American Atheist Ass'n. She currently serves as Executive Director of The Humanists of Florida.

even though WMNF hasn't raked in as much as this list but it should be added to one of the worst charities list, any place that has a bloated overpaid staff who barely works and wastes as much donation money as WMNF has all these years and only gives back a weak product should surely be listed!!!!!!!!
