Why does the conservative media ignore Ron Paul?08/19/11 Robert Lorei
Radioactivity: Live Call-In (Monday)
When Ron Paul came in second this week in the Ames Iowa Presidential Straw Poll his accomplishment was almost completely ignored by the FOX TV Network. We’ll talk about that on the first part of today’s program. First two listener comments about yesterday’s public affairs program. The first about the interview with Susan Taylor Martin of the St. Petersburg Times about her reporting on Pakistan. Then a comment about yesterday’s Alternative Radio.
Earlier this week the Republican Party in Iowa held a straw poll to find out who was the favorite Presidential contender among GOP voters in Iowa. The results were: Michelle Bachmann in first place with more than 28 percent of the votes; Texas Congressman Ron Paul came in second with more than 26 percent. And Tim Pawlenty third with more than 13%. Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Rick perry and Mitt Romney were all far down in the pack from the top three. And even though Congressman Ron Paul came in a strong second- his showing was almost completely ignored by FOX News - the main conservative television network in the country. The attempt to ignore Ron Paul brought this comedy bit from Jon Stewart.
To comment about Ron Paul's treatment by the media we're joined now by Wes Benedict who is executive director of the Libertarian Party.
