Why Is the Sunshine State Slow to Adopt Solar Power?
Good morning, welcome to Radioactivity. Next Friday marks the longest day of the year and the first day of summer. With all that sunlight- what are we doing here in Florida to turn that into useable energy? We’re going to talk about solar energy today on Radioactivity.
But first a few words about the just completed summer fund drive. Thanks to the thousands of people who chose to donate to the drive. That part was a huge success. And thanks to the hundreds of people who volunteered their time by answering phones. And thanks to the dozens of restaurants and chefs who provided delicious food that made the marathon possible- otherwise we would have had a lot of grumpy hungry people in this building. But we still came up about $30,000 short of what we’ll need to make it ‘til September 30th. Every donation counts. So if you haven’t made a contribution this year- now would be the perfect time. You can make a donation online- it’s easy. Just go to WMNF.org and select the “Give Now” button.
Our guest today is Scott McIntyre- he is CEO of Solar Energy Management in Tampa (727-430-3043) and he’s also the past President of the Florida Alliance for Renewable Energy.comments powered by Disqus
