This week, Democrat Amanda Murphy picked up the Pasco County Florida House seat that was vacated by Republican Mike Fasano after he was appointed to tax collector by Governor Rick Scott. Fasano, in perhaps what was Murphy’s final push to victory, endorsed her over her Republican opponent Bill Gunter. Democrats from all over the Tampa Bay area and some from even further around the state pulled together in a grassroots effort to help Murphy claim the seat. Her win brings the Dems up to 45 seats while the GOP still holds 75.

Christian Ulvert, political director for the Florida Democratic Party is here to discuss whether the Democratic grab of Fasano's red seat could represent a turn around in Tallahassee for Democrats.
