Yesterday a New York judge sentenced Art Nadel to fourteen years in prison for defrauding hundreds of investors in a Sarasota-based ponzi scheme. The 78-year-old Nadel is known to some as a mini-Madoff, and will be doing his time in the same prison as Bernie Madoff. Yesterday there was another twist in the lead-up to a special session where state lawmakers are expected to discuss a ban on oil drilling in state waters. Supporters of the drilling ban think Republican leaders are trying to stall the issue out of bitterness.
