Advocates of breastfeeding say it improves the health of infants and even educational outcomes later in childhood.

The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County is hosting a celebration of World Breastfeeding Month Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the Bradenton Riverwalk. There will be breastfeeding counselors, education materials and nutrition educators.

WMNF spoke with Debora Castanon, breastfeeding coordinator for the Manatee County WIC and nutrition program.
