Obama camp pushing voting early in Florida even before early voting starts listen

Obama for America organizers across the state are asking supporters to cast their mail in ballots in person at local Supervisors of Elections offices. It’s the first time a statewide group has used in-person absentee ballots to entice people to vote. Meeting with Obama supporters at the elections office in downtown St. Pete Wednesday morning, Democratic Florida Representative Rick Kriseman said it’s a response the a new voting law that reduces the number of early voting days.

Nina Hayden lost by about 19,000 votes in Pinellas and by around 17,000 in Hillsbourough, her district split between the two counties.
When asked about the possibility of running again, Hayden was vague about what was in store for the future.
When she called Jack Latvala, the winner of the race, to congratulate him, she made it clear that she wanted to stay involved with the community.
According to Hayden, Latvala expressed regret that money was so essential when running a campaign.

Last night at the Gulfport Casino, the Pinellas County Democrats celebrated the historic election of Barack Obama. Complete with hors d’oeuvres, live music and a cash bar, the event drew a large crowd of Democrats from across the bay area.

After the Democratic National Committee (DNC) stripped Florida’s of its presidential delegates because of the timing of the state’s primary election last January, a Democratic activist in Tampa filed a lawsuit claiming that in doing so, the party discriminated against Florida voters.
Today, Victor DiMaio asked the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta to rule that the DNC disenfranchised Florida’s Democrats by not allowing them to choose their party’s nominee for president.
