Last week we told you about a bill in the Florida legislature to require labeling of foods with genetically modified organisms and about opposition to that legislation. Wednesday the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and their allies pass through Tampa on their 200 mile march from Ft Myers to the headquarters of Publix in Lakeland; the marchers are calling on Publix to honor the social responsibility agreement for farm labor reform known as the Fair Food Program.

On Saturday after 6 days without food, more than 60 farmworkers and supporters ended their fast for fair food outside the Publix Supermarket corporate Headquarters in Lakeland. Nearly 1,000 people marched to the fast breaking ceremony organized by the Coalition of Immokalee Workers.
