Representatives from nearly 200 nations spent nearly two weeks at a United Nations climate conference in Cancun, Mexico, seeking a new agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They finished last Friday with one concrete result: they will meet again next December in Durban, South Africa.

The Cancun conference was supposed to make progress toward a new emissions treaty with targets to be enforced by international treaty on all nations.
