Over the holiday weekend the white police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri resigned from the force; but that hasn’t calmed the outrage in cities across the country that he will not be indicted.

Here in Tampa, students at the University of South Florida are organizing a rally and march Tuesday at noon to fight against police brutality and to demonstrate in solidarity with protesters in Ferguson.

On Tuesday, the day after the St. Louis County grand jury handed down its decision it would not indict the white Ferguson police officer for the shooting of an unarmed black teen, there were demonstrations in St. Petersburg and in Tampa.

Governor Rick Scott signed a bill Monday giving Florida students who are undocumented immigrants the chance to attend a state university for the same price as their peers. The bill provides waivers for in-state tuition so they don't have to pay much higher out of state rates.

The bill also freezes tuition rates at Florida public colleges. The Governor is highlighting his commitment to low tuition during his re-election bid against likely opponent, Charlie Crist.

The Student Senate at the University of South Florida is recommending to the school’s Board of Trustees that undocumented immigrants living in Florida receive in-state tuition.

The Senate voted Tuesday night on a resolution supported by Students for a Democratic Society, or SDS.

People furious with George Zimmerman's not guilty verdict protested on both sides of Tampa Bay Sunday.

About fifty activists chanted and held signs on the four corners of a busy South St. Petersburg intersection early in the afternoon.
