Earlier this month WMNF interviewed an activist with Everglades Earth First! trying to save a pristine forest in Palm Beach County from development by the high-tech company Scripps.

On Friday demonstrators fighting for the forest left a voicemail during their protest.

Environmental groups in South Florida are fighting to save a pristine forest that’s being clear-cut for high-tech development; there has already been civil disobedience trying to slow or stop the destruction of the Briger Forest in Palm Beach County.

There are protests planned for the next two Fridays, December 5 and 12.

In South Florida, a battle is brewing between environmental activists and biotech company Scripps Florida over the last remaining forest land in Eastern Palm Beach County. But the battle is about much more than saving a piece of forest land from development.
