Yesterday a tax panel that can put reforms on the ballot announced a plan that would cap the amount of taxes and fees that could be collected by Florida’s cities, counties and school districts.

It’s one of several proposals expected to be issued this week by the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission, the bipartisan group of non-elected officials who convene every two decades to try to revamp the state’s system of funding.
