For a fifth straight day protests of the Republican National Convention were peaceful. More than 100 demonstrators, many of whom described themselves as anarchists – marched through the streets of downtown Tampa until after midnight, after the convention was over.

The Occupy Tampa encampment has come under fire by some community leaders in West Tampa who think it’s an eye sore. Today, the group is cleaning it up along with some other areas in the neighborhood. But they’re not just doing it to help out their neighbors. Bailey Riley was one of the occupiers who organized the effort. The Tampa Police Department and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office are busy making security plans for the Republican National Convention this summer.
