In less than 48 hours, the Democratic National Committee’s Rules and Bylaws Committee meets to decide what to do with the delegates in Florida and Michigan.
Sen. Bill Nelson is scheduled to make a presentation shortly after 9:30 a.m., representing the Florida Democratic party. He’ll be followed by Florida DNC member Jon Ausman and Tampa Sen. Arthenia Joyner, representing the Clinton campaign. It is not known at this time who will represent the Obama campaign.

A federal lawsuit asking that Florida’s delegates to the Democratic National Convention be seated was amended and re-filed yesterday.
Previously a Tampa judge had said that Tampa Democrat Victor DiMaio did not show that he had standing to file the lawsuit against the national party, the DNC. But in a press conference today, DiMaio’s attorney, Michael Steinberg said the new lawsuit proves DiMaio’s standing.

A lawsuit filed by a Tampa Democrat against the Democratic National Committee over Florida’s loss of all of its delegates to the convention has been given a second life.
In August, political consultant Vic DiMaio filed suit against the DNC, claiming that stripping Florida of its Congressional Delegates because of the early primary voting date was unconstitutional. But in October, federal Judge Richard Lazzarra threw out the case.

Two days after Florida’s Democratic primary, the issue of whether the delegates will count at the National Convention is still very much in doubt.
