The U.S. Coast Guardand BP are still struggling to contain an oil spill that started leaking thousands of gallons into the Gulf of Mexico. This began after an explosion last week, that sank Transocean’s Deepwater Horizon Drilling Rig. Next up- Frank Alcock is a professor of political science at New College in Sarasota. He teaches about, among other things, sustainable development. He's the co-author of a new report on oil drilling in Florida's waters 3-10 miles offshore. The report was prepared by the Collins Center and the Century Commission for a Sustainable Florida. The report has conclusions that will support and anger all sides of the debate on expanded oil drilling.

Florida House Speaker Larry Cretul has refused to delay a special legislative session that will conflict with the annual meeting of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.

The Ocala Republican on Tuesday rejected a request by House Democratic Leader Franklin Sands of Weston to postpone the start of the session on rail transportation until next week.
