A new report says that Florida’s economic recovery will be longer and more difficult than the rest of the country.

Forecasters with the Wachovia Economics Group say the state went into recession a full nine months ahead of the rest of the nation. Plus, it says the state’s surplus of housing and commercial real estate is "considerably worse" than the rest of the U.S.

Last week, WMNF reported on a new study from the Pew Charitable Trusts on the clean energy economy over the past decade. It said that Florida green job economy grew nearly 8 percent over the past decade.

The web analytics firm Compete is reporting that U.S. traffic to the social networking site Facebook has increased nearly 8 percent in the past month; more than 113 million people in the U.S. have interacted on the site.

The data also shows that MySpace continued to drop in popularity, while the media sensation Twitter’s growth has flattened. Facebook’s popularity led a University of Tampa instructor to conduct an analysis of its users, keying in on the privacy, or lack thereof.

A recent Rasmussen poll shows the American public far less indulgent of Israeli aggression than many previously believed.
