Yesterday there was a devastating earthquake in Haiti. Communications between the US and the Caribbean nation have been disrupted. But we know the outline of the story- so far- reports indicate thousands of people have been killed. Many more have been injured or are still trapped in the rubble. The quake hit some of the country's most populous areas.

Welcome to WMNF's Radioactivity. I'm Rob Lorei. First up today, Hurricane Ike swept through Haiti and Cuba this week- killing dozens of people.
In Haiti, the situation is particularly bleak because four tropical storms have hit the country in the last month, killing more than 300 people. In some places roads and bridges remain impassible.
