Thousands of parents who rely on a federally funded program for childcare so they can go to work or school may be out of luck next year. Across the board spending cuts known as the sequester are slashing funding by 5% this year. Research institutions in all 50 states will see their budgets decrease this year as a result of across the board spending cuts. That includes Tampa’s Moffitt Cancer Center.
Sarah Donatelli is a post doctoral scholar at the facility. She said the effects could mean a dangerous reduction in cancer research.
