This morning we learned that General Motors may need to file for bankruptcy if it can't pull off a massive restructuring plan. That's according to the automaker's auditors, who raised their concerns in an annual report filed today with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. By most accounts the cost of providing health care for the auto workers in the U.S. adds between $1,000 and $2,000 to the price of every car.
