1972 - A Tribute to a Great Year in Music
Morning Show Wednesday Jul 25 2012 2:00PM Add to Calendar
1972 was truly a great year in music! The Stones were in exile. Lou Reed was walking on the wild side. Steve Wonder was very superstitious. Al Green wanted to stay together. The Allman Brothers were eating a peach. Jimmy Cliff had many rivers to cross. Steely Dan was reeling in the years. The Eagles were taking it easy. Todd Rundgren saw the light. Neil Young was looking for a heart of gold. Little Feat was willin'. Van Morrison was listening to the lion. And Timmy Thomas wondered why we can't live together.
On the July 25 Morning Show we will go back 40 years to play the best and most timeless music from 1972. While Nixon was doing dirty tricks to win a landslide re-election, musical artists were creating an amazing soundtrack.
The top ten artists with memorable 1972 debuts:
Steely Dan; Roxy Music: Jackson Browne: Paul Simon (solo); Big Star; The Eagles; J.J. Cale; David Bromberg; Raspberries; Bette Midler
