My guest on "Talking Animals" Sept. 19 will be Jane Velez-Mitchell, award-winning television journalist and best-selling author.

Host of the self-titled “Jane Velez-Mitchell” on the HLN network, Velez-Mitchell has--over the course of her lengthy career--reported on a wide array of major issues and high-profile cases.

She is an environmentalist, vegan and animal rights advocate, and has often been at the forefront of reporting on factory farming, animal cruelty and various other animal welfare issues.

Velez-Mitchell is a New York Times bestselling author, most recently of “Addict Nation,” and is the recipient of three Genesis Awards from the Humane Society of the United States, a Los Angeles Emmy and a New York Emmy Award.
