Big Cat Rescue Founder Carole Baskin on "Talking Animals"
My guest on "Talking Animals" Nov. 28 will be Carole Baskin, the founder and CEO of Big Cat Rescue in Tampa.
Big Cat Rescue stands as the largest accredited sanctuary in the world dedicated entirely to abused and abandoned big cats, with more than 100 exotic big cats living there.
Beyond caring for these animals at the Sanctuary—and rescuing still others (they began rescuing exotic cats in 1992) --Baskin and Big Cat Rescue are also deeply involved in legislative efforts to end the captive trade in big cats.
They’ve also made tremendous inroads in helping to halt the so-called “pay-to-play” operations by which people can pet and have their pictures taken with big cat cubs in malls and elsewhere.
Carole Baskin will speak with us live, in studio, on "Talking Animals" on Nov. 28 at 11am, and listeners are invited to participate in the conversation by calling (813-239-9663) or e-mailing (DJ@wmnf.org).
