HSUS VP For Farm Animal Protection on "Talking Animals"
My guest on "Talking Animals" May 8 will be Paul Shapiro, Vice President, Farm Animal Protection, at The Humane Society of the United States.
In 1995, Shapiro founded Compassion Over Killing, an animal advocacy organization seeking to end animal abuse in agriculture and promoting vegetarian eating. He served as COK’s campaigns director until 2005, when he joined the staff of The Humane Society.
While at HSUS, Shapiro has helped orchestrate a number of legislative campaigns to improve the plight of farm animals, playing a role in enacting farm animal protection laws in California, Arizona, Michigan, Maine, Colorado, Oregon, and Ohio.
Shapiro has also worked with numerous companies to improve animal welfare in their operations.
Paul Shapirro speaks with us live on "Talking Animals" on May 8 at 9am ET, and listeners are invited to participate in the conversation by calling (813-239-9663) or e-mailing (DJ@wmnf.org).
