Getting ready for the weekend with WMNF
Hola Mi Amigos y Amigas, We occupy the airwaves talking to artists and creative types, figuring out how they do what they do, and letting you know where and when they are going to do it. xooxxoox JoEllen

The Hostess who Loves YOU the Mostess

Hello Art fans, Thanks so much for listening to Art in Your Ear. This show has been on WMNF in one way or another since the early 80s. The art world has changed so much locally since then.
If you want to be interactive, we have a facebook page And holla at me if you want me to know about an art event or have a question: schmellen@wmnf.org
I just wrote a poem about a brownie for Ron, who donated to Art in Your Ear:
My tongue craves your dark lines
and the dawn of your pleasure.
This morning, I thought of you
Smooth skin promising deep secrets.
Ghana, Brazil, Ecuador, Cote d'Ivore,
you carry them through your
sly journey.
When you open to me, it becomes night, our night, only us in the silky night.
My promises to share, to restrain, to pause are left
in another room, someone else's place.
They may guess and envy
our assignation.
Next time, I whisper to them, my dove,
I'll save some for you.
(You can hit up the tip jar and tell me you want a poem, and one word that you want it about...
that's a fun premium!)
On this week's show, 4/19/13, is Platform Art.
We also have Sharon Olds' poem, Stag Leap. Her book of poems with that title poem just won the Pulitzer Prize. And a beautiful, you might just cry, poem by Asia Simpson.
