Although I am a relatively new programmer at WMNF, I am not new to radio. For the first five years of its existence, I was a programmer at WSLR and hosted a weekly show called Our Kind of Folk. I left that show when I was given the opportunity to host the Monday Morning Show. I am very active in the local "folk music" scene here and have been the primary organizing force for the Our Kind of Folk House Concert series based in Pinellas County. This series now enters its 11th year and we have had the opportunity to host a great many talented musicians during this time. I make a real effort to help other hosts get the word out about local shows and to provide a voice for talented musicians who might not get heard otherwise. You will hear some of these "under the radar" artists each week on my program. I hope many of them will eventually become "WMNF Favorites." Radio and music are not my only passions. I have a PhD in Animal Ecology and am active in local and state ecological/environmental issues. I am an adjunct faculty member at St Petersburg College in their Biology Department, manage my own ecological consulting firm, and operate a small wildflower nursery out of my home in Seminole. In addition to all of that, I try to devote time to my family; one that is growing annually with the addition of grandchildren. And, I am a rabid sports fan.
