Host

Jeff Stewart

Jeff was born in a sleepy Canadian fishing hamlet to a humble fisherman and scrubbery maid. Lost in an all-night poker game, the youth was traded to distant relatives in rural Kentucky where he spent his summers picking tobacco and strip mining.Â

It is unclear when Jeff converted to R&B, but by high school he was the only student to use an Otis Redding quote in his class yearbook and was voted "most likely to sit at the dock of a bay."

Hitch-hiking to Tampa on the back of a turnip truck, he found refuge at a soup kitchen that also doubled as an early home for a small non-commercial radio station called WMNF. After several weeks serving soup to the ragged staff & board of directors, he begged his way onto the air, unaware that this was an unpaid position.Â

Jeff is single and shares his residence with a cat named Little Walter (who can actually fetch), and no longer harbors delusions of a career in the NBA. He is intensely loyal to his radio audience and hopes someday to get really good at this thing.Â
