About WMNF |
|
WMNF first went on the air in September, 1979, the result of a few years of hard work by a small group of dedicated volunteers who went door-to-door raising money for Florida's first community radio station. The call letters stand for: Member-sponsored Non-commercial FM.
WMNF continues to be volunteer-powered and listener-sponsored, providing the listening community with eclectic music as well as non-mainstream news, views and public affairs programming. Thanks to all the wonderful WMNF volunteers, staff, board of directors and more than 10,500 listener-sponsors! Radio for the rest of us!
WMNF is a 70,000 watt non-commercial, listener supported community radio station, licensed to the Nathan B. Stubblefield Foundation, a non-profit organization established solely to operate WMNF. WMNF is a section 501(c)3 charitable organization. All gifts and donations are tax deductible in accordance with the law.
Mission Statement: WMNF 88.5 FM is a non-commercial community radio station that celebrates local cultural diversity and is committed to equality, peace and social and economic justice. WMNF provides broadcast and other forums to serve the community by the exposure and sharing of these values.
