Silent movie organist Rosa Rio - now 106 years young! - talks about how she got her start in the business, and a performance that still makes her laugh.
Edited by Sheila Cowley
Rosa Rio will be performing this Sunday at Tampa Theatre, telling stories of her work as Orson Welles' organist for "The Shadow," as Mary Martin's accompanist, her run-ins with Cole Porter and her career as the first woman musician hired by NBC. Then she'll perform the improvised film score for Buster Keaton's movie "The Electric House," and cabaret hits on the grand piano during Tampa Theatre's first "Afternoon with Rosa Rio".
