Tropical Heatwave 2025 is proud to announce the addition of Florida’s own guitar virtuoso Damon Fowler to its stellar lineup. The Tampa native brings his unique blend of Americana, blues, and Southern rock to what promises to be one of the festival’s most anticipated performances.

A Gulf Coast Musical Legacy
Hailing from Florida’s Gulf Coast, a region that has produced legendary musicians from Tampa Red to the Adderley brothers to Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts. Fowler has emerged as the area’s premier musical ambassador. His sound captures the essence of American roots music while pushing boundaries with masterful guitar work that critics have compared to Johnny Winter and Jeff Beck, with slide guitar reminiscent of the late Duane Allman.

Fowler is as expressive a songwriter as he is a singer and instrumentalist. He’s preaching an otherworldly, Americana-themed gospel from a six-stringed pulpit. He is a roots guitar guru,” raves Living Blues magazine, capturing the spiritual intensity that Fowler brings to every performance.

Chart-Topping Success
Fowler’s career continues to reach new heights. His 2021 Landslide Records release, “Alafia Moon,” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart, spent four months in the Top 20, and received a Blues Music Award nomination in the Blues/Rock category. His follow-up live album, “Damon Fowler And Friends, Live At The Palladium,” earned strong airplay throughout the United States and Europe.

His latest release, “Barnyard Smile,” features eight new original compositions alongside distinctive covers of Bo Diddley and Jerry Reed classics. The album, which debuted at #6 on the Billboard Blues Chart, showcases the full spectrum of influences that have shaped Fowler’s distinctive blues career.

In-Demand Collaborator
Beyond his solo work, Fowler has earned the respect of his musical peers, evidenced by his featured slot in the Butch Trucks Freight Train Band and his role as guitarist in the Dickey Betts Band. These prestigious collaborations speak to Fowler’s exceptional talent and versatility.

The Chicago Sun Times puts it simply: “Make way for the next big-time guitar slinger, wire-walking Tampa, FL, native Damon Fowler. This guy can play, garnering big raves for his power trio’s live shows.

Don’t Miss This Hard-Driving Troubadour
Tropical Heatwave 2025 attendees can look forward to experiencing Fowler’s hard-driving, soul-steeped sound that represents the many styles comprising American roots music. His performance promises to be a highlight of the festival, showcasing why he’s considered one of the most dynamic performers on the contemporary blues scene.
