The Vortex

The Vortex brings you the best in music from the past, present, and future. Monday early morning 3 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Join us as we depart on a sonic adventure to find the Center of The Vortex. WMNF’s The Vortex features music from all places and all times, featuring rock, indie, funk, hip-hop, folk, electronic, and more. You never know what The Vortex is thinking about, but often there will be a theme or a trend connecting the dots during each voyage. Some Deep Dives. Some Dead Ends. A lot of awesome music.

The Vortex slogan, which has been neither approved by legal counsel nor focus tested with the coveted 18 – 25 demographic, is “Adventurous, but accessible“. Think of listening to The Vortex, not as the sonic equivalent of scaling K2, nor The People Mover at Magic Kingdom, but more like a three hour time-traveling road trip where the road never quite leads where you expect.

Keep the community in community radio: send song suggestions to the email below or msg me on IG.

In addition to hosting The Vortex, Nate Diggity Dawg curated WMNF’s Song of the The Day.
