On the Juneteenth WMNF Sustainable Living Program we talked about food, cooking and helping others.

Our guests were Hal and Liza Bailstein, co-founders of the non-profit Illumi-Nation Project. Liza also teaches healthy cooking to inner-city children at the Academy Prep in St. Petersburg.

Halimat Ajibade, a 20 year old woman interested in nutrition, farming and being a great cook also joined the show. She has been a WWOOFer (Willing Worker on Organic Farms) volunteer at Ecofarm for the past six months.

The owner of Gallerie 909 in South St. Petersburg, Carla Bristol, started the program with announcements about Juneteenth events. The main goal of the Illumi-Nation project is to develop a multi- propose sustainable education community center in St. Petersburg. This turned into a very interesting cooking program while addressing inner-city food issues.
